A Guide to Using the EPL App!

Access the Edmonton Public Library anytime, anywhere with the EPL App. The app is a great way to stay up to date on everything happening in the Library. You can even access your library card, search the catalogue, place holds and more!  

How to use the EPL App

Download and Install the App 

Go to the Google Play store for your Android device or the App Store for your Apple device. Search for “Edmonton Public Library” to download the EPL App to your device.

Log In 

Locate and tap the EPL App on your mobile device. Tap Log in. Enter your library card number or username and password or scan your library barcode by tapping the barcode icon. 

     

Home  

Along the bottom navigation bar, you will find the Home icon. At the Home screen, you will have an overview of the number of items overdue, due soon and holds ready for pick up. You can customize your home screen to display what’s new at the library, library events and more! You can tap on the library card icon at the top right corner of the home screen to access your library card barcode.  

My Borrowing 

The My Borrowing screen is where you can view the number of items checked out, due dates, history and more. If you want further details, tap on the section to find out more. 

Search 

Tap the search icon (magnifying glass). If you start typing keywords, you will see search suggestions that you can choose to explore. 

You can also tap the barcode to start a barcode image search for an item. 

Place a Hold 

You can place a hold on an item you would like to borrow. Select the format you want and tap Place Hold. Next, choose the location to pick up your hold, then tap Place Hold. Save your preferred location for pickup by checking the "Enable Single-Click holds" box.

Locations 

Find the address and hours of operation for a library branch. You can pin your favourite branch to the top of the list.
