Help shape the conversation at EPL’s Mayoral Candidate forum!

The Edmonton Public Library is hosting a Mayoral Candidate Forum on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Stanley A. Milner Library and online. To make the discussion focused and engaging, the forum will feature a limited number of candidates. That’s why we need your input!

Fill out the poll to:

  • Tell us which mayoral candidates you’d most like to hear from
  • Share the questions that matter most to you.

Your feedback will help ensure the forum reflects Edmonton’s priorities and gives candidates the space to engage thoughtfully with the community.

The poll is open until Tuesday, Sept. 23, so don’t miss your chance to have your say. Ticket registration will open in the coming weeks — stay tuned!

EPL Is More Essential Than Ever

The Library offers accessible programs and services that respond to real needs across our city. Whether you're a newcomer, job seeker, parent, or lifelong learner, EPL is here to support your journey. What follows are just a few examples of how we make a difference.

  • Helping Children Start Strong: EPL’s early literacy programs give children a head start before they even enter the classroom. Storytimes, books, and interactive learning activities help build the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. Early literacy does more than prepare kids for reading, it’s a proven way to reduce inequality and support long-term success.
  • Supporting Job Seekers: Looking for work? EPL offers practical tools to help you move forward. We provide free job search workshops, resume support, and access to online employment resources, everything you need to take the next step in your career.
  • Bridging the Digital Divide: Not everyone has easy access to the internet or technology. That’s where EPL comes in. We offer free Wi-Fi, public computers, technology help, and digital literacy classes to ensure everyone in Edmonton has the tools to stay connected and confident in a digital world.
  • Newcomers: EPL is a trusted place for newcomers to Canada and Edmonton. Many branches host settlement workers and offer language learning resources in different formats. We also provide free computer use and low-cost printing to help make everyday tasks more affordable. Most of all, EPL is a welcoming space where newcomers can feel safe, supported, and part of the community.
