Events

Join the Friends of Edmonton Public Library for an intimate gathering to meet Edmonton’s newest Historian Laureate on Wednesday, December 4 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. The "salon" will take place at a stunning home on Strathearn Drive. A selection of wine, beer and soft drinks and an array of finger food, (hot and cold, sweet and savoury) are included in your ticket.

Join Donna Coombs-Montrose, Edmonton's Historian Laureate, for a fascinating conversation about capturing a diverse set of local stories that contribute to our overarching understanding of our community. Edmonton has millions of histories and Donna works to preserve and elevate the stories of individuals and communities in a way that broadens our perspective on the history of the city. This is challenging work and we will hear from Donna about how she chooses and undertakes her projects, the stories she thinks we should hear and how our understanding of local history should inform our understanding of the present day.

Secure your ticket with a $75 donation to FEPL at Canada Helps and receive a tax receipt for the full amount. All proceeds will go to support EPL's Cook Up A Story Summer Camps for kids from socially vulnerable families. You can get more information and purchase your ticket here.
