2025 Staff PD Day

Your Library is committed to lifelong learning – for you and for us!

On Wednesday, May 14, all Edmonton Public Library locations—including our 21 branches and Lit Vans—will be closed for a dedicated Professional Development Day.

What you need to know

  • Programs and Services: All EPL programs, including outreach and settlement services, will be paused for the day and will resume on Thursday, May 15.
  • Borrowed Items and Holds: No need to worry about due dates—any items or holds set to expire on May 14 will automatically be extended to May 15. Our 24-hour return slots will remain open as usual.

This initiative is aligned with our 2024-2026 Strategic Goals and Business Plan, which prioritizes learning, exploring, and experiencing enabling our team of nearly 600 staff to strengthen their capacity to provide excellent service.

Thank you for your understanding as we take this time to learn and improve—so we can serve you even better.
