Dear Library Customer,
In our last update, we introduced Library Express Checkout, opens a new window, our self-service approach that allows you to visit select EPL locations in-person to pick up your holds as well as check out some materials from our Staff Picks and Hits-to-Go collections. Today we’re excited to announce Library Express Checkout has expanded to:
- Abbottsfield - Penny McKee Branch
- Calder Branch
- Capilano Branch
- Castle Downs Branch
- Heritage Valley Branch
- Highlands Branch
- Idylwylde (Bonnie Doon) Branch
- Jasper Place Branch
- Londonderry Branch
- Meadows Branch
- Riverbend Branch
- Sprucewood Branch
- Strathcona Branch
- Whitemud Crossing Branch
- Woodcroft (Westmount) Branch
These locations are now open in addition to the existing locations that currently offer Library Express Checkout (Clareview, Mill Woods and Lois Hole). Have questions about this new service? Read our FAQs, opens a new window.
We know navigating this new normal is challenging, and to help you we’ve extended the due dates for all checked out material to Tuesday, September 1! Once you check out your EPL material, you’ll see the extended date reflected in your epl.ca account within a few seconds.
The health and safety of our staff and customers remains our top priority. While inside our branches we strongly encourage you to wear a mask as recommended by Alberta Health. We are committed to meeting your needs where possible, while following the public health restrictions in place. Due to new COVID-19 standards and quarantining of returned items, holds will now take five business days to process before they are available for pickup. Although you may see a hold is available on your account, it is not ready until you’re notified of an actual pickup date via email or through our automated voicemail system.
If you prefer to access the Library from the comfort of your home, customers with computer access will continue to have free and unlimited use of EPL’s digital resources through EPL from Home, opens a new window. Plus, you can chat virtually with us at epl.ca/ContactEPL, opens a new window or over the phone at 780-496-7000, opens a new window or text 587-817-0337, opens a new window. Whether you want to discover new resources, receive book recommendations, or have any questions, we’re happy to help.
We look forward to welcoming you into the Edmonton Public Library once again.
