Dear Library Customer,
Today the Government of Alberta announced a return to Step 1 of the Province’s Path Forward Roadmap in response to the rising cases of the Covid-19 variants. As a result, effective immediately, all Edmonton Public Library (EPL) locations will be temporarily closed for in-person service until further notice.
We understand that the stronger restrictions announced by the Province will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of our customers, staff and communities. We are committed to meeting customer needs despite these limitations. The following library services remain available:
- Library Takeout Service and Personal Picks Pack will be available at select EPL locations.
- Borrowed materials can be returned at any point using the outside return chutes.
- Customers can continue to access our digital resources, including virtual classes and events.
If you have any questions about our temporary closure, please refer to our frequently asked questions for more information. Customer support and information services will continue to be available during our revised hours of operation by phone (780.496.7000), text (587.817.0337), or by email and online chat. We will continue to keep you informed through our website as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
It has been a challenging time for us all as we all navigate the ever-changing COVID-19 developments. With the expansion of the vaccination rollout, along with these more aggressive restrictions, I am hopeful EPL can re-open soon. Thank you for your support, understanding and patience during this time as we work together to ensure the well-being of all Edmontonians, and reduce the spread of this virus.
