Sandra Marin, Trustee

Why I Love EPL
For EPL Board Trustee Sandra Marin, her love of libraries and reading came from her mother. “Every Saturday morning my mother would take me to the library so I could choose my books for the week,” she recalls. “She was an avid reader, visitor of libraries and read to me every day.”
Before becoming an EPL trustee in 2019, Sandra was an EPL volunteer providing career expertise and support to EPL customers. “It was rewarding on a variety of levels,” she recalls. “At the end of each shift, it felt great to help EPL customers achieve their short- or long-term career goals. The experience also allowed me to get up close and personal with a sampling of the people that are positively impacted by the incredible services EPL offers.”
From avid library lover turned EPL volunteer to EPL Trustee, Sandra being able to serve on the EPL Board is a dream come true, “Libraries hold a very special place in my heart and soul,” she adds. “I feel so grateful to be able to be of service to EPL, to Edmonton and to my fellow trustees. Being able to marry service with something so personally meaningful is truly a gift.”
