Gamerspace
EPL's Gamerspace is a fun, welcoming space for any customer interested in gaming. The space is truly one-of-a-kind, not only in Edmonton, but in the global library community. It's filled with high-quality equipment across multiple gaming platforms with a wide selection of games. Novice and expert gamers alike will appreciate the multiple platforms and a combination of self-serve and staff-mediated bookings.
Services
- 9 Gaming PC stations, each with 32” curved monitors, height-adjustable gaming desks and comfy gaming chairs.
- 3 Console stations spread out around the room:
- 1 Xbox Series X gaming station with a 49” TV
- 1 Sony PlayStation 5 gaming station with a 49” TV
- 1 Nintendo Switch gaming station with a massive, 98” TV
- 2 Retro Arcade Cabinets
- Xbox Adaptive Controller (XAC) - learn more about this controller for gamers with limited mobility.
Customers may book up to 2 hours in the Gamerspace Mon-Sat and 1 hour on Sun.
Events
In addition to great gaming access, EPL's Gamerspace will also host special events throughout the year, such as:
- Streaming professional eSports tournaments
- In-room gaming tournaments and challenges
- Streaming popular Twitch players
- Presentations from local gaming experts
Hours of operation:
- Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Xbox Adaptive Controller is a versatile hub, connecting external devices like toggles, buttons, switches and triggers to create a personalized gaming experience.

Anyone! Gamers of all ages and backgrounds are more than welcome to join in on the fun. Some games will be self-serve and require no library card, like the arcade cabinets. Others will be self-serve and require a library card, like the PC gaming stations. Console stations are available for all, but you will need to show your library card to staff in the space to have access to a controller.
