Forms Completion Volunteer
Support library customers who have challenges with digital literacy and/or English language skills to review and complete a variety of online or paper government forms, such as Employment Insurance, Citizenship and Immigration.

Volunteer Location
Idylwylde Library- 8310 88 Ave NW, Edmonton
- Program Days & Times: Wednesdays, March 19th to May 7th, 2025 from 10:30-12:30
- Shift Time: 10:15am-12:45pm
- 8 week minimum volunteer commitment
- Mandatory Orientation to take place prior to the first volunteer shift.
- Language Requirements: French
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Work alongside the customer to complete government forms either online or on paper.
- Use language skills to support customers who may have difficulty understanding English language documents.
Volunteer Skills & Qualifications
Required
- Proficient in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to speak, read and write in a language other than English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- High digital literacy skills including typing and website navigation.
- Excellent technical competence.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
Preferred
- Experience working with newcomers or persons with limited English language skills.
- Experience helping someone with limited digital literacy skills.
- Previous experience filling out government related forms for others.
- Fluency in French is preferred
Volunteer Commitment
Length of Commitment
- Short Term
- Minimum commitment of 8 weeks (March 19th, 2025-May 7th, 2025)
Time Commitment
- 2.5 hours once a week
